Tips to Book Cheap AirAsia Ticket

I have countless experiences to travel on AA, routine Singapore-Penang flight and two third of my budget SEA trips. I experience the delays, date changes, flight cancelation but I still love AA cause it gives everyone a solid reason to fly! You get what you paid, so don't complain too much! At least, it saves me from taking 10hours bus journey from Singapore to Penang! It is seriously better than some other budget airlines! I've always been trying to book AA at the cheapest price and hence done quite a bit of research and experiments.

Here are few tricks and tips to save you from burning your pocket:

  1. Logon to airasia website daily! Subscribe the newsletter! Register an account!
    Set the website as your homepage! Or at least logon to http://www.airasia.com/ daily for latest low fare promotion. Do subscribe their newsletter as they will send you latest promotion by email. Register an account to receive first hand information and sales, to enjoy member advance sales, to save the hassle of tying the credentials over and over again during promotion period that good deals may be gone in 2 minutes later.

  2. Plan your trip earlier! Book it earlier!
    Hottest free seats sales (just pay tax) are available for travel dates as far as 1 year later. Do plan your next destination and travel dates one year earlier. Check the calendar for public holiday to save your precious annual leave. Ah, dont forget to check the suitable season for your destination. The earlier you book the ticket, it is generally said to cheaper. Weekdays are always cheaper than weekends and long (public) holidays, if you are flexible, you get the best fare!

  3. Get a faster internet broadband, login as member and use Firefox browser!
    No doubt, while 8 of us were accessing AA website during free seats promo from different corner of red dot island, friend with faster network managed to check the price and booked the ticket while we kept refreshing the buzz...buzz...buzz bee... Autoinsertion of details expedite the booking process and Firefox browser claims to perform faster during free seats promotion time! Minimise the opening of browsers boost your website loading...

  4. Try mobile.airasia.com on smartphones!
    You aren't unfamiliar to mobile.airasia.com when bees appear on your webpage. Switch to alternative - the mobile apps has cleaner interface and makes the booking more stable and faster.

  5. Be the early birds!
    Logon to the website the first minute free seats promotion kicks off (usually starts at 0000hrs GMT +8), if you have a faster network, you can beat the crowd to book the cheap ticket. Be patient for the busy bees... Just refresh and keep refreshing the browser...

  6. Just select the ticket, leave others later!
    If you are unsure if you can make it for the trip, just book the ticket ONLY. Untick the check in luggage, in flight meals, insurance, seat selection etc. All these items can be added later (4hrs or few days in advance), if you need, with the same price. For faster booking, fill in the required field only -- name, nationality and date of birth!

  7. Get an online banking account!
    For booking to or from Malaysia destinations, you can save the convenience fee by registering a Maybank2u/publicbank/CIMB/Ambank/BankRakyat/RHB Bank/Hong Leong Bank online banking accounts! This will save you RM8/way/pax, RM16/2 ways/pax!! A family of 4 could save up to RM64 for return journey, big sum isn't it?

  8. Logon to low fare finders!
    Found few interesting apps created by other users to search AA low fares. Try this: airasiaplus.com. On top of it, this airasia price chart gives you an idea the price trends and flight demands. Be flexible and I'm sure you could get a good deal!

  9. Compare to other airlines!
    I'm currently relocation in Singapore so I always check jetstar.com and tigerairways.com to compare the price before making decision. There are still other SEA budget airlines such as Malaysia based fireflyz.com.my, Indonesia based lionair.co.id, Philiphine based cebupacificair.com. A great tool to compare air tickets among airlines: Skyscanner.net.

  10. Check my blog for greatest AA deals!
    Last but not least, check this blog! I don't update every single AA deals but only those can save you a bomb! So stay tune!!

Bali 6D5N Itinerary

Bali offers too much excitement and I could only choose the most-people-travelled out of numerous interesting places for our first BaLi ViSiT. Armed with latest edition of Lonely Planet (published Mar 2011) and forums & blogs research, I proposed a fully packed exploration journey and Nusa Lembongan was part of my wanted plan...

However, like Chinese saying - plans can't beat changes. Plan does change.

The plan first changed when I realised the most frustrated thing for the month was there one day before the trip. During THAT period, women are not allowed to enter their temple and SPA is almost impossible besides massage. For these 2 reasons, I decided to twist the plan a bit.

After arriving in Ubud, we all deeply fell in love to Ubud and hence we decided to stay one more night at Ubud and just relax throughout the trip.. The most enjoyable day were the day girls become Tai Tai (rich women) where we just kept shopping - spa - eat and sleep while guys were delighted by the Telaga Waja rafting journey.

Therefore, we went for 2nd time on 5th day. Lucky, Kintamani showed us the real him on our 2nd attempt...

We took out nusa lembongan and added water rafting which was a perfect choice...

Overall, we did enjoy and relax to MAX =D

Preview of Bali Trip

Let's start off with the Island of Gods - Bali - one of the 10 islands to explore before you die published in Yahoo Travel.

About a year ago, friends knocked me on msn saying AirAsia is having the free seats again! In a group conversation, we decided BALI. AA always kicked off the free seat sales at 12midnight on WEEKDAY! No choice, for a group of budget traveller friends, we stayed awake.

'Bee...Busy' page on AA isn't unfamiliar to many budget travellers. One of my friend has faster network and she managed to get in and checked. Deal, we decided to go BALI tentatively from 14-19 April. Wished to make it on Good Friday so no need to take long annual leave but the free seats only available on a week before Good Friday...

After few trials, we failed to book the ticket and most of us went to sleep after 1.30-2am. X8 stayed awake and he managed to book 6 tickets at only SGD45.50 for both ways!! **HAPPY**

Scene changes fast...time flies...about half a year before the trip....

We started to draft the plan and I volunteered to be the organiser cause I like to plan travel itinerary so I could take charge of the trip - I know what exactly worth spending, I know where i have been to, I know where serves the best cuisine...

Long long time ago, uncle ong has promised to bring me to BALI so I did many homework before... The most value hotel in Bali is TEGAL SARI in Ubud. No.1 in tripadvisor!! It has to be booked and fully paid at least half a year ago to ensure you have the desire room! I quickly wrote email to TG and Moo also tried his luck by writing to them... Lucky, we managed to book 2 double and 1 twin room. Is TG really good? I will reveal in later entry...

Ding Ding Dong Dong.. created a facebook discussion thread with friends, agreed on the route, sent emails for accommodation request, booked room & driver etc...

Through the extensive research, I have a much broader idea how attractive BALI is... 6 days aren't enough to explore the spiritual island...

Welcome!

Welcome to our blog! We have just returned from the island of Gods - Bali and hence I have created our blog's bannner with this green field photo taken in Bali which I love so much! Let's begin our stories telling...

Mr. Ong and I will be the authors for this blog. We love travelling, we love life and we need a space to store our travel and love journey stories. When we grow old, we can flip over the stories written and share with our children...

We are both working adults, we need to work 8-6 from Monday to Friday. To earn for a life, we dont really do much travelling together.. Let me count, where we have been to together so far - Krabi, Tioman island, Cameron Highland, Hong Kong and the most recent trip to Bali last week. Do i miss out any trip?

Next trip booked will be Yogyakarta @ Indonesia in November. Again, Airasia 0 air ticket. I'm currently so tempted to go Taiwan which is just mentioned by my uncle Ong. His brother is going to graduate in Taiwan in June and his uni is subsidizing foreign graduates' family to witness the graduation ceremony, only 5000 taiwan dollar needed - inclusive of accommodation, dining, sightseeing and etc. Just fork out money for air ticket, good deal isn't it?

Well, I can't ask for annual leave anymore as i have been travelling and taking leave quite frequent this year.

Feb - taken 4 days for CNY, 4 days for Kota Kinabalu trip;
Apr- 4 days for Bali trip;
May - 1 day for balik kampung trip;
Sept - 1 day for balik kampung trip;
Nov - 2 days for Yogyakarata trip

Work hard and then save hard for our coming trips.... Cheers.

With love,
